My life is over whelming currently with a combination of graduate school, placement, family, health and now the impending search for a car. I do apologize about the silence and ensure my dedicated readers that I am always on the look out for material that will help the gluten free community! Once things calm down I will have the chance to post more frequently!
So, my last post was a very special one, it was my 100th post. I’ve had this blog up for almost a year and have posted 100 times! The journey has been both inspiring in the sense that I found a great community and I am helping other out there like myself. In addition, it has been a test in dedication and sticking to one thing, something that up until recently I was never too good at. However, I have loved every minute of it and hope you have as well.
Thank you to all my followers here, on Facebook and on Twitter. I hope you’ll continue to follow long, even if there are periods of silence, for the many more posts to come.
In this 101st post I wanted to share a very important movement in the gluten free community, the need to improve and standardize food labeling laws in the United States. Gluten Ingredient labeling on food products has been neglected by the FDA for years, even after being tasked to do so back in 2007. And yes, IT IS A BIG DEAL. I know for one this would make my life not only easier by eliminating the time spent shopping but safer in the long run because I will truly know what I can and cannot eat. I am sure you can all agree. The 1in133 campaign is at the forefront of fighting this campaign for all of us gluten free folks out there and there are several ways you can help. Check out their link to donate, sign their petition, write a letter to the FDA or snag a badge to place on your sight!
