In today’s personal gluten free news I outed myself as gluten free to my colleagues at work. It only took me six months, but all the holiday giving made for the perfect time to slip them the news. It was taken rather indifferently, which isn’t a bad thing. Do you make your colleagues aware that you are gluten free, or are they totally oblivious?
On another holiday note, don’t forget about those gluten free folks on your wish list. My 2013 Gift Guide might be a helpful tool 😉 Anyway, onto the news!
In last week’s news round up I touched based on the study which suggested the relationship between GMOs and Gluten Disorders, at the end of which I discussed my belief in the need for more research. It seems I had the same thought as the Celiac Disease Foundation. Read this article for a discussion on the flaws of this finding, and more details on where the relationship between GMOs and Gluten Disorders really stands.
Next Wednesday, the 11th, from 11am to 2pm EST US News will be hosting a twitter chat about the gluten free diet. They will feature some of my favorite leading ladies in the gluten free community, Jules Gluten Free and Gluten Free Girl! Be sure to check this press release for further details, and check it out if you can!
This study makes another connection between Fibro, IBS, and CD. Findings suggest multiple things including a family history of CD in Fibro and IBS patients 30% of the time, that those with Fibro an IBS might realistically suffer from CD, and that a gluten free diet improves symptoms among other findings.
