Gluten Free News Round-Up: April 17th- 23rd

Yesterday was my birthday and I was blessed enough with an awesome family, boyfriend and friends that I did not have time to post! So, what’s in the news?

Help Give a ‘Heads-Up’ on Headaches
This isn’t so much news as my passing along something some of you may be interested in helping out with. Wendy over at Celiac.com is seeking information regarding headaches in individuals with celiac disease or gluten intolerances for a new study. She’s looking for any information including personal stories. If you have an intriguing ‘headache case history’ feel free to check out the link above and send her some info!

Blame your 6q21-22 for your Autoimmune Disease

The troubles of Global Medical Cuts on Research
As everyone probably knows by now I am a believer in research. The global recession we are in is having a negative impact on medical research, resulting in companies cutting billions of dollars in research funds. This article is an example that these cuts go well beyond the coasts of the United States. While Celiac Disease is not the only disease affected it’s personal, obviously.

And finally, somewhat delayed but we have a new spokes person for Celiac Disease Awareness:
Mrs. Alaska. Check out her website for more information on her and her great speaking platform “Against the Grain: Raising Awareness for Celiac Disease”

Happy Easter and Passover to Everyone who Celebrates as well!
